If you’ve recently purchased your first trailer, you may not realize that your equipment didn’t come with everything you need to transport your cargo from place to place. While your trailer was ready to be loaded up and towed the second it left the dealership lot, without the important accessories on our list you’ll find it almost impossible to get where you need to go. To make sure you have everything you need to successfully haul your cargo from one place to another, be sure to read our helpful article below!

Ramps

Ramps are one of the most convenient features a trailer can have! However, if your model didn’t come with a handy set of ramps already installed, you may be in a bit of a pickle. In order to load up large or heavy items, you’ll need a set of ramps to get the job done. To make sure you’re not struggling to load your freight all by yourself, we advise purchasing a separate set of ramps to use at your convenience, or a ramp installation kit.

Tie-Down Cords

It’s extremely important that you tie down your cargo to keep it from spilling out into the road or sliding around in your bed. However, different tie-down cords often have different purposes, and it’s important that you select the right type for your cargo. For small items or objects with awkward angles, a few durable bungee cords are a great option. However, if you’re carrying extremely large or heavy items, you may prefer more restrictive straps, and a heavy-duty set of hooks to keep them in place.

Additional Anchors

If your trailer has few to no tie-down anchors, you may have trouble keeping your items secured as you drive. Thankfully, D-ring anchors are not only incredibly easy to install but inexpensive to buy! Purchase as many as you need from your local dealership or hardware store, then use a few durable screws and a drill to attach them to your trailer.
